Kolby Trey!

We are happy to share that Kolby has FINALLY arrived! He was due on Dec. 31st but despite my efforts he decided to stay put a little bit longer. It seemed as though the hospital didn't want us to come and they didn't want us to leave. I had a scheduled induction time for Wednesday morning which I confirmed so I know we were on the list. I called that morning to make sure there was room and my first phone call said to call back because they were full. So I called a little later and they couldn't find me on the schedule and told me I couldn't come. Fortunately my doctor was there and cleared up the mess so I could come in. Because there were so many other babies being born at the same time I got started in a tiny triage room. Fortunately a lady got discharged and I got moved into her room! I had thought about going all natural during delivery but I chickened out this time and decided to get an epidural. My legs got good and numb but that was about it. All I can say is OUCH! I got nervous every time the nurse got close to the door. I felt like yelling out "You can't leave me in here, he's coming out." Lucky for me doctor and everyone showed up just in time! We like to leave the hospital as soon as possible and we told some nurses that was the plan but when the time came to leave everyone couldn't believe we were leaving and they asked if we wanted to stay another night. Kolby has definitely made his mark in our family. He is the only child to come after his due date, he is the biggest kid weighing in at 8 pounds 13 ounces and 21 inches long. He was delivered the fastest, just under 5 hours of labor. He is the only one not born in a sequence for dates ( Mo on the 17th, Tanner 16th, McCall 15th, Brayden 14th and me the 11th). We thought it would have been cool to have him on the 12th or 13th of the month but there was no way I was going that far over due. He is also the only kid the nurses haven't been able to get the security device off of. I think we had 4 or 5 different people try. And they all said the same thing, "i've never seen this type of clip before." Fortunately we were able to get it off.
The kids are in love with him and Brayden can not keep his hands off Kolby. He is always rubbing his head or sticking his face in Kolby's and sweet talking to him. It has been fun to see them so excited about anything Kolby does. I wish I would have had a camera ready when Brayden "helped" change a diaper. He got the diaper ready and as soon as Mo revealed a dirty diaper brayden covered his mouth, gagged and ran away yelling "oh man"!! We love having Kolby in the family and are so glad he's ours.
